Job Description:
This position is responsible for the design and execution of preclinical experimental
protocols evaluating lead product candidates, using appropriate in vitro and
in vivo models. This position contributes to the advancement of preclinical
programs through creativity, innovation and problem-solving.
Responsibilities:
• Perform in vivo experiments assessing changes to electrochemical balance in
cochlear fluid samples. Expertise in patch clamp technique or single unit recording.
• Perform in vivo experiments assessing changes in structural and tissue integrity
and function within the cochlea.
• Prepare samples for histologic assessment
• Perform immunohistochemical staining and analysis of samples
• Maintain scientific notebooks, perform data collection, analysis, and documentation
of laboratory experiments
• Develop novel methods; accurately reproduce and improve upon published protocols
• Contribute to scientific research through frequent review of relevant scientific
literature.
Qualifications:
• Bachelors or Masters degree in a scientific discipline.
• Minimum 3 years laboratory experience in electrophysiology, neurophysiology,
and/or auditory physiology.
• Minimum 2 years experience working with in vivo models.
• Demonstrated working knowledge of scientific principles and standard laboratory
practices.
